I started my professional life as a sound engineer and illustrator in Vienna, but was quickly drawn into the (then) new digital world of animation, film and games. My earliest work with 3D graphics was already focused on expressive facial animation and lighting and shading models.
In 1997, I joined the vibrant VFX scene in California, originally to animate virtual passengers for the movie “Titanic”. Since then, I have breathed cinematic life into various monsters and comic characters during a fascinating career in Hollywood’s film world. For example, “Ironman 3”, “Captain Marvel”, “Gregory the Gargoyle” in the “Sandman” series, and many, many more.

In 2014, I accepted an interesting job offer that allowed me to work in beautiful Montreal and contribute to such wonderful projects as “Blade Runner 2049”, “Peter Pan” and “Arrival”.

If there is any time left, I love to go for long hikes in the forest and enjoy cooking. I am curious about foreign cultures, but dislike flying.
Having grown up with literature and jazz, I also love the craft of writing in all its forms. I earned three UCLA certificates in screenwriting, creative writing and film production and am currently working on a novel, short stories and essays.
